File Properties

File Properties Windows में किसी file के बारे में important information और available settings देखने का तरीका है। Properties में file का name, type, location, size, dates और कुछ permissions/attributes जैसी information दिखाई दे सकती है।

Simple words में, File Properties से हम किसी file की details और basic settings देख सकते हैं।

File Properties कैसे Open करें?

Method 1 — Right Click

Step 1: File Explorer open करें।
Step 2: जिस file की information देखनी है, उसे select करें।
Step 3: Right Click → Properties पर click करें।

Method 2 — Keyboard Shortcut

File select करके:

Alt + Enter

दबाने से Properties dialog open किया जा सकता है।

File Properties में क्या Information मिलती है?

1. File Name

Properties में file का current name दिखाई देता है।

Example:

Computer Notes.pdf

2. File Type

यह बताता है कि file किस प्रकार की है।

Examples:

• PDF Document
• Microsoft Word Document
• JPEG Image
• MP4 Video
• Text Document

3. Location

File computer में कहाँ stored है, इसकी location दिखाई जाती है।

Example:

C:\Users\Student\Documents\DCA

4. Size

File कितनी storage space ले रही है, यह KB, MB, GB आदि में दिखाई दे सकता है।

Example:

2.5 MB

5. Size on Disk

Storage device पर file द्वारा वास्तव में allocated space की information भी दिखाई जा सकती है।

यह file size से अलग हो सकती है क्योंकि filesystem storage blocks/clusters में space allocate कर सकता है।

6. Created

File कब create की गई थी, इसकी date और time information दिखाई जा सकती है।

7. Modified

File में आखिरी बार content या metadata में relevant change कब हुआ, इसकी date/time दिखाई जा सकती है।

8. Accessed

कुछ Windows configurations में file के last access की date/time भी दिखाई जा सकती है। यह setting और filesystem behavior के अनुसार उपलब्ध या updated हो सकती है।

9. Attributes

File Properties में कुछ file attributes दिखाई या change किए जा सकते हैं।

Common examples:

• Read-only
• Hidden

Read-only: File को सामान्य editing से protect करने में मदद कर सकता है, हालांकि यह complete security mechanism नहीं है।

Hidden: File को सामान्य File Explorer view में hide करने के लिए use किया जा सकता है।

10. Security / Permissions

NTFS जैसे file systems पर Properties के Security section में user और groups के permissions देखे या manage किए जा सकते हैं, अगर user के पास required administrative rights हों।

Common permissions में:

• Read
• Write
• Modify
• Full Control

जैसे access levels शामिल हो सकते हैं।

मान लीजिए file है:

DCA Notes.pdf

Properties में information इस प्रकार हो सकती है:

Name: DCA Notes.pdf
Type: PDF Document
Location: C:\Users\Student\Documents\DCA
Size: 1.8 MB
Created: Date & Time
Modified: Date & Time
Attributes: Read-only/Hidden आदि

File Properties का उपयोग क्यों करें?

File Properties की मदद से आप:

• File का type check कर सकते हैं।
• File size देख सकते हैं।
• File की exact location पता कर सकते हैं।
• Created और Modified dates देख सकते हैं।
• Attributes check/change कर सकते हैं।
• Supported filesystems में permissions देख सकते हैं।

File Properties और Rename में अंतर

File Properties: File के बारे में information।

File Content: File के अंदर मौजूद actual data।

Example:

Student List.xlsx

Properties: Size, location, dates, type आदि।

Content: Student names, roll numbers, marks आदि।

अगर आपको पता करना है कि Computer Notes.pdf कितनी storage space ले रही है:

Step 1: File Explorer open करें।
Step 2: Computer Notes.pdf select करें।
Step 3: Right Click → Properties।
Step 4: Size information देखें।
