कंप्यूटर की परिभाषा (Definition of Computer)
कंप्यूटर शब्द लेटिन भाषा के कंप्यूट शब्द से लिया गया है, जिसका अर्थ होता है, गणना करना। अत: इसे संगणक कहा जाता है। यह एक ऐसा यंत्र है जो गणतीय क्रियाओ को तीव्र गति से सम्पन्न करता है।
कंप्यूटर एक इलेक्ट्रोनिक स्वचालित मशीन है, जो निर्देशों के नियंत्रण में डेटा पर क्रिया (Processing) करके सूचना प्रतिपादित करता है। यह राॅ डेटा को निवेश (Input) के रूप में स्वीकार करता है तथा उन पर क्रिया करके परिणाम (Output) के रूप में अर्थपूर्ण सूचनाएं प्रदर्शित करता है।
